LIVERPOOL V UNITED

-

I HAVE a sneaky feeling it is not going to be an Anfield annihilation as some fellow United fans fear.

You should never forget it’s a local derby as near as damn it - and literally anything can happen in a one-off game of this magnitude.

I would rather have my tenner on a United win at 4/1 with us at Betfred than 8/15 on those pesky Scousers!

Hand on heart, I reckon Jose Mourinho will come up with a master plan and get us at least a point. If pressed, I’d go for a 2-2 final score which is a tasty 14/1.

That would do City a huge favour, especially as I don’t expect them to have any trouble overcoming Everton at the Etihad today.

I’m praying Mourinho doesn’t start with Paul Pogba against the league leaders. He has a missing ingredient in the toughest of leagues where games come thick and fast – desire and a determination to consistently achieve.

Marcus Rashford is coming nicely back into goalscoring form and he’s 8/1 to score first at Anfield, with the Egyptian King Mo Salah well backed to get the opener at 11/4.

United were lacklustre in the Champions League at Valencia - and it is no wonder they are the least fancied of the English teams at 40/1 to win the competition outright at Betfred.

They will be lucky to avoid some of the biggest clubs on the continent in Monday’s last 16 draw.

City, meanwhile, as group winners have the prospect of a much easier passage to the quarter-finals.

The Blues have been shortened slightly to 7/2 favourites to make club history and win the Champions League for the first time, while Barcelona are 9/2, Juventus 6/1,PSG 15/2, Liverpool 9/1 and Spurs 25/1.
