Woman carjacked at beauty spot
A WOMAN was subjected to a ‘terrifying ordeal’ as she was car-jacked at gunpoint in a beauty spot.
The victim, in her 30s, had her Audi Q3 stolen in the car park of Daisy Nook Country Park in Failsworth, Oldham.
It came after a car – believed to be a grey Fiat Bravo – crashed into the back of the Audi on Stannybrook Road.
Following the smash, both drivers stopped in the nearby Daisy Nook car park to exchange details.
But as they did so the driver of Fiat pulled out a gun and threatened her.
He then drove off in the Audi while a second man fled in the Fiat.
Det Constable Katy Simpson from Operation Gladiator, GMP’s Oldham Division said: “The perpetrators of this robbery have subjected the woman to a terrifying ordeal.
“We are determined to trace those responsible for this crime and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
“Did you see the Fiat or Audi in the area during the time of the incident?
“We believe the Audi has been used in the Oldham area subsequent to its theft. Have you seen anyone acting suspiciously while driving a car like this?
“Anyone who can help with our enquiries should contact police immediately.”
The gunman is described as Asian, with darker-coloured skin, aged in his early 20s, of slim build and about 5ft 8ins tall. He had short back and sides, with curly or textured dark hair on top. He is described as having a pointy chin and was clean shaven, wearing a black jacket.
The other man was white, with dark or black short, straight hair. His skin was very pale and he is described as having a tired-looking appearance with bags under his eyes.
The incident took place at about 11am on December 19. The victim was uninjured. Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 8972 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
