CORONATION Street star Tina O’Brien and her new husband Adam Crofts gazed adoringly at each other as they left the King Street Townhouse hotel following their romantic New Year’s Eve ceremony.
The new Mr and Mrs Crofts gazed lovingly at each other outside the city centre hotel where they said ‘I do’ in front of a host of Tina’s Corrie castmates.
Bride Tina was all smiles in a navy top and black skinny trousers with on-trend leopardprint boots and red velvety gold-chain bag alongside her personal trainer husband, who is the global business developer for the personal training company UP Fitness.
The ceremony was attended by Tina’s 10-year-old daughter Scarlett, with former co-star Ryan Thomas, who looked as equally stylish as her soap star mum in a fluffy-hooded coat and dungarees with a cream top and caridigan.
Lucy Fallon, who plays her daughter Bethany, Helen Worth, who plays her mum Gail Rodwell, Jack P. Shepherd, who plays her brother David, and Mikey North, who plays her on-screen boyfriend Gary Windass, were guests at the intimate ceremony.
Alison King, Colson Smith and Julia Goulding, who plays David’s girlfriend Shona Ramsey, also attended. The couple, who have a four-year-old son, Beau, met eight years ago after Scarlett approached him in a branch of Starbucks and said ‘hello, man.’
Adam proposed to the actress in May 2016 and in December she headed to Tenerife with her closest friends on a break she called ‘Henarife,’ sharing several snaps on her Instagram account including one of her carrying a ‘The Future Mrs Crofts’ tote bag.
The ladies enjoyed beach walks and a ‘wonderful few days chilling, chatting and drinking.’ And at the end of the trip Tina said: “When you don’t want a break to end.” Tina, 35, from Rusholme, has played mother-of-two Sarah Platt since 1999. After leaving the cobbles in 2007 when Sarah moved to Milan with daughter Bethany, she rejoined the show in 2015.
In 2010 she starred in the Rochdalebased BBC1 school drama Waterloo Road as teen runaway Bex Fisher, the eldest daughter of the new headmistress Karen Fisher.
Her character has had a turbulent time since returning to Weatherfield, including her relationship with drug dealer Callum Logan, who was killed by her sister-in-law Kylie Platt after she walked in on him attacking Sarah.
Haunted by the memory of Callum’s murder, Sarah later developed postpartum psychosis after having his baby, named Harry, and the Platt family was hit by further heartache to discover that Sarah’s teenage daughter Bethany had been groomed by evil rapist Nathan Curtis.
