JUVENTUS sporting director Fabio Paratici has said he expects Max Allegri to remain in his position as the Turin club’s manager, as speculation linking the Italian with the United hot seat lingers.

A report last week said Allegri, the manager of Juventus since 2014, is a contender to take over at Old Trafford at the end of the season.

United intend to appoint a sporting director next summer and Allegri has experience of that from his time working with Paratici in Turin, which would make him a good fit for the new structure at the Reds.

Allegri was asked about reports linking him with United last week and said: “I have a contract with Juventus and I am happy here.

“We are doing a great job together with the fans.

“There are many games to win before the end of the season, there is time before June. Italian football is fascinating, I am not tired of it. I want to stay to improve Italian football.”

Now Paratici has been asked if he expects Allegri to stay and said: “I think so, he is the best possible manager for Juventus.”

Paratici was also questioned about Juve’s interest in Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey.

He has been tentatively linked with a move to United, who almost signed him 11 years ago. “He (Ramsey) is a great player, he’s been playing in a big club for many years,” Paratici said.

“That’s all for now.”
