Ex-Blue Milner gives Klopp injury boost

-

LIVERPOOL have been boosted by the return of influential midfielder James Milner ahead of the Premier League clash with City.

Milner has missed three of the last four fixtures through injury, but Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp confirmed that the former Blues man is back in training.

City are seven points behind Liverpool, and desperately need a win to keep their hopes of a second successive Premier League title alive. But their task of beating the league leaders could have been made harder with Milner’s return.

Klopp confirmed Milner’s return and hailed the Englishman for his influence in the dressing room

The manager said: “He’s back in training yesterday for the first time. We’ll see what we do with that.

“In the dressing room he’s part of the team, influential, chatty, good. He is very important when you are not a native speaker.”

Klopp explained what has clicked for Liverpool this season to give them their best chance of lifting their first title in 29 years.

He said: “I see the attitude and the right move in the games and training sessions.

“Results and performances give confidence. We have results and performances. “Our boys have quality. “As long as we mix up potential with attitude, there will be quality.”
