Sterling can become a real world-beater

-

RAHEEM Sterling is so good he can ‘soon’ become one of the best players in the world, according to City team-mate Leroy Sane.

It’s been another fine season for the winger so far, with Sterling racking up 10 goals and seven assists this term.

His form earned him November’s Premier League player of the month award and he’s also scored twice for England recently.

Sane and Sterling have struck up a close relationship on and off the pitch and the former identified Sterling’s desire to get better as one of his major attributes – and the asset that could take him to the very top.

“He’s scored a lot of goals and helps us a lot in every way, and he’s just a really good guy – a humble guy,” Sane said.

“He is also really hungry and motivated to improve in his own game – to achieve something, his own targets.

“This is what it’s like to push him to get better and if it goes like this every year, I think soon he can also be one of the best players.”

Sterling scored 22 goals for City last season, but Sane believes he is even better in front of goal this term.

He said: “I think you can see he’s taken (his chances) well,” Sane said of Sterling’s form in front of goal. He uses his chances much more than last season and he scored already a lot of goals this season.”
