Manchester Evening News - - NEWS -

HUNDREDS of people have joined the search for two dogs that have been missing from home for almost five weeks.

Buster the pug and husky Luna haven’t been seen since before Christmas, sparking fears they may have been stolen.

Owner Alex Walton says she and her three daughters have been left heartbroken – and have begged anyone with information to ‘do the right thing’.

Two-year-old Buster and Luna, three, escaped from their garden on Alt Road in Ashton-under-Lyne, Tameside, on the morning of December 5.

Later that day, the pair were spotted on Hartshead Pike – around an hour’s walk from their home. There have been no sightings since.

A ‘Find Buster and Luna’ Facebook group now has more than 1,500 members.

Banners and posters have been put up, with volunteers scouring the streets daily to try and find the dogs.

Alex, 28, said the animals are microchipped, but fears they were stolen. “It’s heartbreaking,” she said. “It feels like you’ve lost one of your kids, they are part of our family. I don’t know how I’m coping to be honest, seeing the kids so upset.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Alex on 07526 318 310.
