Revealed, shortlist for the legal awards
THE shortlist for this year’s Manchester Legal Awards has been revealed.
JMW Solicitors leads the nominations after being shortlisted in nine categories including litigation team of the year, regulatory team of the year and large law firm of the year.
Eversheds Sutherland is nominated in six categories including employment team of the year, property team of the year and large law firm of the year.
In the barristers’ chambers of the year category, Deans Court Chambers, Kings Chambers, Lincoln House Chambers and St John’s Buildings all made it onto the coveted shortlist.
The awards ceremony, one of the most prestigious events in the Manchester legal sector’s calendar, will take place at the Midland Hotel on Thursday, March 7.
Shortlisted entrants will undertake panel interviews on Friday, January 18, before the final winners are decided.
Fran Eccles-Bech, chief executive at the Manchester Law Society, said: “Now in its 10th year, it is always refreshing to see the high level of healthy competition between some of the region’s most renowned firms and individuals.
“This year, we’ve received a record number of entries, and the quality of submissions continues to improve year on year.
“It’s no easy task for the judges to reduce the entries into a shortlist – and this year has been harder than ever.
“It’s a true testament to any firm or individual named as a finalist, as we are always inundated with entries of an extremely high calibre.
“Now the shortlist has been announced the panel interviews are just around the corner.
“We’re very keen to speak to the entrants face to face and find out more about the fantastic work they’ve been involved in.”
