Cup goal was ‘best moment of my life’

-

CALLUM Lang says scoring Oldham’s dramatic winner in last week’s FA Cup giantkilling of Fulham was ‘probably the best moment of his life’.

The Latics return to League Two action today when they host Forest Green, looking to keep going an impressive run under caretaker manager Pete Wild.

And Lang says the win over the Premier League side will give them a huge boost as they look to continue their rise up the table.

“It was probably the best moment of my life,” Lang told the Oldham website.

“The team performance from start to finish against Fulham was great, we had a plan, we stuck to it and got the result.

“It gave us a lot of confidence, I think when you beat a team like that and come back to play in the league you’ve got to believe that you can beat whoever you’re up against this week.

“We’re going to go into the game (against Forest Green) with a lot of confidence and hopefully we can keep this run going.”

Wild, however, is keen for his players not to dwell on the Cup win.

He said: “We’re back down to earth now, back to reality to what is now a massive game against Forest Green.

“The lads have been excellent in training and the buzz around the training ground is good.

“We’re still chasing teams like Forest Green, so we’ve got to make sure we’re focused on that task.”

Latics will go into today’s game without top scorer Sam Surridge after he returned to his parent club Bournemouth following a loan spell.
