Police raid £30k cannabis factory

POLICE have smashed a £30,000 cannabis farm and vowed: ‘This will not be tolerated’.

Officers raided a property in Castleton, Rochdale, and seized 60 plants.

Pictures posted on the GMP Rochdale Facebook page show what appears to be a room in a house packed wall-to-wall with cannabis plants growing underneath a lighting system.

A message alongside the pictures said: “This morning, neighbourh­ood officers have executed a drugs warrant at a property in Castleton.

“Sixty plants were seized, street value estimated at £30,000.

“This seizure sends out a strong message that this will not be tolerated and we will tackle drug activity.”
