Fans starting to buy into Lowe’s Bury philosophy

- By DAVE CROWTHER-GREEN

BURY manager Ryan Lowe says he now believes that fans are now buying into his ideas after their dramatic victory over MK Dons last Saturday lifted them to second in the League Two table.

Over 4,000 fans were in attendance at Gigg Lane last weekend to see the Shakers stage a remarkable comeback against their fellow promotion rivals, scoring three goals in just over 15 minutes to win the game 4-3 thanks to Nicky Adams’ injury time strike.

Midfielders Jay O’Shea and Danny Mayor, and in-form forward Dominic Telford, also got themselves on the scoresheet as Bury secured another home victory to take their current home points tally to 33 – the most in League Two so far this season.

And after also picking up away wins at Yeovil and League One side Accrington Stanley in the Checkatrade Trophy this month, it seems a long time since the team were surprisingly booed off by supporters after being a goal down at half-time against Crewe Alexandra on New Year’s Day.

But with his side managing to turn it around to win 3-1 and subsequently extend their unbeaten run to five games in all competitions since then, Lowe believes that they’re starting buy in to what he and his team are trying to do.

“They were brilliant and there weren’t any boos at half time which was good. I think they know now what we’re about and they’re buying into the football we’re playing.

“Sometimes it might take going a goal down to give us that lift in certain games, especially when you’re playing special teams like MK Dons.

“I said when I took the job I wanted to bring the good times back and we’re slowly but surely doing that, the fans are coming through the door and seeing exciting football.”
