Adams hails ‘superb’ Bury fans

- By KAUSTUBH PANDEY

BURY midfielder Nicky Adams has hailed the support of the fans in helping them do well this season and has encouraged them to come up with more of the same in the upcoming games.

Ryan Lowe’s men are currently second in League Two and are now entering a crucial point of the season.

They’re currently just three points behind Lincoln, who have two games in hand but face the Shakers next week.

Bury will also lock horns with Oxford on Tuesday in the quarterfinals of the Checkatrade Trophy.

Speaking to the Bury Times, Adams praised the fans after the Shakers came from behind to claim a 4-3 win over MK Dons last weekend.

He said: “The fans have been right behind us all season. At 3-1 down you can get disheartened but I think they knew we were still doing the right things, we were still attacking and creating good chances.

“The atmosphere was superb – and that’s what we need, we need that 12th man because we’ve got some massive games coming up.

“We’re really pleased with how it’s going at the moment, but we won’t get carried away, we’ll just keep doing what we’re doing.

“The most important thing for me were the scenes at the end.

“The togetherness, with everyone involved – wow! You can’t ask for much more than that. That’s what you’re in the game for. Hopefully there’ll be more scenes like that.”
