-

POLICE are investigating after a teenage boy was robbed at knifepoint.

The 17-year-old was walking down Talbot Road in the Newton area of Hyde with a friend when he was targeted by the armed thug on Monday.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) say the robber threatened the teen and demanded money from him.

The boy handed over cash and the thief, described only as a ‘white male’, ran from the scene.

A spokesman for GMP said: “We were called at 9.10pm to Talbot Road in Hyde to reports of a robbery.

“A white male approached the victim and his friend, there was some sort of confrontation or scuffle, and the offender pulled out a knife.

“He told the victim to hand over money, which he did, and the offender fled the scene.

“No arrests have been made and further enquiries are ongoing. We are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.”
