We’re entitled to opinions, snaps Giggs
RYAN Giggs has defended his Class of ‘92 cohorts after Zlatan Ibrahimovic questioned their criticism of United.
Ibrahimovic said in an interview this week that the Class of ‘92 were ‘on TV and complaining all the time because they are not active in the club’.
But Giggs said he and his fellow academy graduates such as Gary and Phil Neville, Paul Scholes and David Beckham were entitled to their views on a club they support.
The Wales manager, who was speaking at Carrington after Wales had used United’s training ground to prepare for the friendly with Trinidad & Tobago, also suggested, with a raised eyebrow, that Ibrahimovic, who played 53 games for United, must know more about the club than the Class of 92. “When you play over 3,000 games between us, we’re going to have an opinion,” Giggs said.
“Sometimes positive and sometimes negative but I don’t think that has any bearing on results. We’re supporters of the club together with other ex-players who are on TV or radio - that’s what football is about, having different opinions”.
