Brady still in charge even from the grave

-

WITH regard to your recent M.E.N. on Sunday front page – (I’ve spent my life searching for Keith, March 3).

The law is wrong that a solicitor who probably wasn’t born at the time the Moors Murders were committed should have access to Ian Brady’s briefcases.

As Mr Brady was detained at Her Majesty’s Pleasure for quite a long time, these briefcases should belong to the prison system, and the public who have paid their taxes which kept him while he was in jail. He has no right to rights as his victims weren’t allowed any.

Keeping a lifer’s possessions is wrong. Brady is having his last laugh over these briefcases, they should be ordered immediately into the police’s hands and experts to study them. He could have coded a message into every fifth word and also ordinary paperwork can hold many clues without indirectly saying so.

I think it’s grossly wrong for them to be held by a solicitor. Brady is telling everyone what to do from his grave and getting away with it. L Neary, Bolton
