Strictly viewers love Kelvin’s dad dancing
KELVIN Fletcher had viewers gushing as he introduced them to his adorable family on Strictly Come Dancing at the weekend. The former Emmerdale actor and his professional partner Oti Mabuse were joined in rehearsals for their Mary Poppins theme routine by his cute children.
Kelvin showed off the moves that have won the hearts of the nation with help from little Milo and Marnie.
“Aww Kelvin’s children are so cute!” gushed one fan on Twitter.
“Aren’t Kelvin’s children the cutest?” asked another.
Kelvin received high praise and a cry of “fab-u-lous” on the BBC dance show from judge Craig Revel Horwood on Saturday night.
And Bruno Tonioli said: “Everybody’s talking about Kelvin for a good reason. It was as good as anything I’ve seen on the West End stage or Broadway.”
Kelvin and Oti scored a whopping 38 out of a possible 40 points in the third week of the contest.
They made it safely through to next week’s show, with Anneka Rice bowing out last night.
Kelvin, from Oldham, was a latecomer to this year’s Strictly after Made In Chelsea’s Jamie Laing was forced to pull out of the show at the last minute due to injury.
Sharing a video on his Instragram ahead of the live show Kelvin said: “Little Milo has been helping me with rehearsals for this weekend’s #MarryPoppinsReturns Charleston!
“This soundtrack and this song especially has been on loop in our house for the last few months since taking Marnie to the cinema (her first cinema trip) to watch it. So I’ll be doing my best and making sure I don’t disappoint!
I’m absolutely LOVING this #strictly experience I feel so lucky.”
Kelvin played Andy Sugden in Emmerdale from 1996 to 2016 and was involved in some of the ITV soap’s biggest storylines, winning Best Actor and Best Dramatic Performance at the British Soap Awards.
Kelvin married his long-time girlfriend Eliza Marsland in 2015, and they welcomed daughter Marnie in August 2016 and son Milo last December..
