Fam­ily trib­ute to dead man

THE heart­bro­ken fam­ily of a man have paid trib­ute to a ‘lovely, in­tel­li­gent guy’ af­ter po­lice charged two for his mur­der.

Peter Rob­son - known as Archie was found with se­ri­ous in­juries at an ad­dress on Glegg Street, in Mac­cles­field last Fri­day.

The 59-year-old, orig­i­nally from Knutsford, was taken to Mac­cles­field Hos­pi­tal where he died the fol­low­ing day.

In a state­ment, his fam­ily said: “He was a lovely, in­tel­li­gent guy, friendly to ev­ery­one and a char­ac­ter peo­ple just loved. “We will miss him deeply.” Fol­low­ing Mr Rob­son’s death, po­lice im­me­di­ately launched a mur­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion and ar­rested two men.

Daniel Whit­more, 25, of May­field Av­enue, Mac­cles­field, and Daniel May­ers, 38, of Glegg Street, Mac­cles­field, have both been charged with mur­der.

Of­fi­cers have re­mained in the lo­cal area to pro­vide re­as­sur­ance.
