BRITAIN’S CHILD DRUG RUNNERS

Channel 4, 10pm

THIS shocking Dispatches documentary exposes the reality of gangs using kids to move and sell drugs.

Children as young as seven are being groomed for the job by ‘county lines’ traffickers, who deal away from big cities into rural areas.

And once the kids are hooked in, they are trapped, entering a dangerous criminal world of gangs and violence, often forced to hide drugs inside their bodies.

This film follows police, parents and social workers as they try to protect young people in rural Oxfordshire.

Karla, mum of 16-year-old Jacob, tells how he was always “up to mischief” at school, but one day a friend warned her he was drug running. She didn’t believe her, until she found unexplained cash and miniature scales in his pocket.

Meanwhile, 16-year-old Emily can’t go back home as it’s near to the drugdealing flat where she was found.

This is an eye-opening look at an underground world affecting young people from all backgrounds.

DOC MARTIN

ITV, 9pm

THIS final episode is not for the fainthearted if – like the Doc – you don’t like the sight of blood.

With the knowledge that Martin (Martin Clunes) will be scrutinised at an operation, his aunt Ruth (Eileen Atkins) tries a new therapy for him – increasingly gory pictures of blood. And later there’s a nauseating incident with a finger.

Just watch you don’t pass out. You’d miss guest star Tom Conti, who is brilliantly droll as Bernard Newton, an eminent surgeon who is assessing the doc’s surgical skills.

Newton was his tutor, colleague and old friend, but does that mean he’ll give him an easy ride? Especially when Martin is rather too honest with a patient.

Meanwhile, Morwenna and Al are preparing for their wedding – and they’ve roped in help from half the village – but when Morwenna’s parents can’t make it, will their big day go ahead?

With plenty at stake, and a couple of whopping reveals, it’s a satisfying finale.
