A foregone conclusion?

Manchester Evening News - - LETTERS, COMMENTS AND EMAILS -

GIVEN that Boris Johnson has promised to get Brexit done – a promise that he means to keep this time (well, there’s a first time for everything, I suppose).

And given that we’re told the “people” want to get Brexit done (apparently those who want to stay in the EU aren’t really people) why don’t we just forego the election, declare Mr Johnson PM for the duration and use the money saved to buy a few hundred feet of railway track for HS2 or a new fur coat for the Queen?

After all, I get the impression that some of the “people” would vote for Jack the Ripper if he promised them Brexit, presumably excusing his penchant for eviscerating women as a mere peccadillo and a price worth paying to win us our country back.

So the General Election result is a foregone conclusion anyway. Brian Travis, Salford
