Young girl in intruder sex attack horror

A MAN sexually assaulted a young girl after entering her bedroom in the early hours.

He was disturbed by others in the property and fled. Detectives have launched an investigat­ion and have appealed to the public for informatio­n following the incident at around 4.30am yesterday.

Police patrols have been stepped up following the incident at a property on a street off Outwood Road in Radcliffe, Bury.

Officers were called to the house following reports of an intruder.

The man was reported to have entered the property before going into the bedroom of a young girl, where he sexually assaulted her, Greater Manchester Police said in a statement.

The intruder may have been seen on Outwood Road heading towards Radcliffe. Police are hunting a man described as white, aged between 30 and 50 and approximat­ely 6ft.

He was wearing light coloured trousers, dark jacket and glasses.

Detective Superinten­dent Howard Millington, of GMP’s Bury district, said: “This was an incredibly traumatic incident for the young girl involved and we’re doing all we can to provide her with specialist support. Her welfare is one of our top priorities as we try to establish the full circumstan­ces surroundin­g the incident. I appreciate that what happened may cause concern among residents in the local community but I want to make it clear that we are doing all that we can to trace the person responsibl­e and bring them to justice.” Anyone with any informatio­n is asked to contact police on 0161 856 8172 quoting incident number 344 15/11/19.
