Wil­son plays down gos­sip sur­round­ing United move

BOURNEMOUT­H for­ward Cal­lum Wil­son has re­sponded to trans­fer ru­mours link­ing him with a move to United in the Jan­uary trans­fer win­dow.

Reds man­ager Ole Gun­nar Sol­sk­jaer ad­mit­ted the club would be ex­plor­ing their op­tions in the win­ter win­dow and wants another for­ward to lessen the goal-scor­ing bur­den on the shoul­ders of Mar­cus Rash­ford and An­thony Mar­tial in at­tack.

He said: “Of course, we let Alexis and Romelu go. You don’t have to be a rocket sci­en­tist to see that it’s a for­ward that, next time, we’re go­ing to re­cruit – we’re look­ing for some cre­ativ­ity and goals.”

Plenty of names have been linked with a move to Old Traf­ford in­clud­ing

Wil­son – whose ex­cel­lent form for Bournemout­h has pro­pelled him into the Eng­land squad.

The 27-year-old has scored five goals in the Premier League this sea­son but re­fused to be drawn on the spec­u­la­tion sur­round­ing his fu­ture.

“I usu­ally find out by peo­ple read­ing stuff and com­ing up to me!” he said.

“I’m just kind of like ‘you know as much as me’. I don’t re­ally lis­ten to it.

“I don’t read pa­pers and I don’t read Twit­ter feeds about trans­fer ru­mours. I tend to just fo­cus on my­self.

“I’ve just signed a con­tract at Bournemout­h so I’m com­mit­ted there.

“I try not to let any­thing like that af­fect my game.”
