MAN SHOT DEAD IN SPAIN ‘HIT’
SALFORD DAD GUNNED DOWN OUTSIDE VILLA:
A SALFORD dad has been shot dead in a ‘professional’ hit in Spain.
Peter Andrew Williamson, 39, believed to be originally from Kersal, was murdered as he parked his Audi outside his villa in Riviera del Sol near Fuengirola after returning home from the gym on Thursday.
It is believed businessman Mr Williamson was hit five times and that his killer drove up alongside him in another vehicle before speeding away.
Business records show Mr Williamson was registered as a self-employed agricultural sector intermediary, specialising in ‘international trade.’
A source told the M.E.N: “He was very well known in Salford, but left for Spain a number of months ago.
“He was shot at 3.15pm yesterday. Within an hour, the news had filtered through to Salford.”
It is understood Mr Williamson, nicknamed Snaggle, was a married father-of-two.
Tributes have poured in for Mr Williamson on social media.
One person posted: “What a guy he was. Another one of the Salford boys gone too soon.”
Another person wrote: “Wow. In shock. RIP, Snaggle.”
Mr Williamson was gunned down on a street called Ofrebres – a residential road in hills above the Med on the north side of the AP-7 motorway running along the Costa del Sol.
Police desperately tried to save his life at the scene, but were unable to revive him.
Mr Williamson is understood to have been shot several times in the chest as he was sitting in his UKplated Audi, which was towed away at around 7.30pm after forensic experts had combed the murder scene for evidence.
A neighbour said: “We heard sirens and thought it was a traffic accident, but a shooting on an estate with children and families is shocking.”
No arrests have been made.
The murder is the second in less than a week in the area.
Last Friday, a man was shot dead on a residential estate known as Andasol, a short drive from Marbella town centre and close to a beach area called Alvarito Playa, east of Marbella.
