Revealed, a new touch of glass for Deansgate...
PLANS for a new 17-storey office block in Deansgate have been revealed.
Property firm Kames bought 39 Deansgate for a reported £11m last year.
New images released by the company now show their plans for a huge new glass building on the site.
It would have more than 135,000 square feet of office space and 5,000 sq ft for ground-floor or restaurant use.
The building 39 Deansgate sits in the wider Renaissance Hotel regeneration area, earmarked for a £200m transformation in the coming years.
The 1970s hotel is set to be demolished to make way for a five-star hotel, 600 apartments and a new public courtyard, as well as waterfront walkways and restaurants.
A drop-in consultation session for Kames’ plans is being held next Thursday
from 3pm until 7.30pm at 39 Deansgate, Manchester, M3 2BA.
Local residents, businesses and stakeholders are invited to view the plans and discuss the proposals with members of the project team.
Following the consultation, the project team will take all comments into consideration ahead of the submission of a full planning application to Manchester council in early 2020.
Richard Peacock, co-manager of the Kames Property Income Fund, said: “Manchester has experienced a sustained period of unprecedented growth over the past two decades and the city remains highly attractive to major occupiers.
“There is strong demand for highquality office space in Manchester and 39 Deansgate represents an attractive redevelopment opportunity.
“We welcome the views of local residents and business on the proposals,” he said.
