Woman ar­rested after M60 smash

A WOMAN has been ar­rested on sus­pi­cion of drink-driv­ing after crash­ing a Mini on a mo­tor­way.

The Mini Cooper veered off the M60 at junc­tion 6, near Sale, and into some trees last night.

The driver of the ve­hi­cle was breathal­ysed by po­lice at the scene. She was more than three times over the le­gal drink-drive limit. She was checked over by paramedics and then taken into cus­tody.

GMP Traf­fic Tweeted: “Clock­wise M60 at J6. One ve­hi­cle RTC where the fe­male driver pro­vided a road­side breathal­yser read­ing of 109.

“She has been checked over by paramedics and is en route to cus­tody. For­tu­nately no other ve­hi­cles in­volved and no in­juries.”

North West Mo­tor­way Po­lice added: “Fe­male driver has blown 109 at the scene. Le­gal limit is 35. Fe­male will be checked over by am­bu­lance be­fore be­ing taken into cus­tody.”
