More living with cancer
THE number of people living with cancer has risen by almost a fifth in five years to almost three million, new figures suggest.
New data compiled by Macmillan Cancer Support shows that 1.27 million men and 1.62 million women are expected to be living with cancer in the UK in 2020.
This is almost 500,000 cases more than the figure for 2015.
Calling for more funding from the next government, Macmillan said the reasons behind the rise are a growing population and the fact that people are living longer.
