Daniel James on Marcus Rashford
DANIEL James has opened up on his relationship with Marcus Rashford and how their training ground drills are helping him to improve.
The United attacker has adapted well to life in the Premier League following his transfer from Swansea in the summer and he is building a great relationship with Rashford.
James has assisted three Rashford goals in United’s last five league games and the 22-year-old has opened up on his partnership with the England international as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side prepare to face Aston Villa this afternoon.
“Yes, Marcus is obviously a great player to play with,” James told ManUtd.com.
“The abilities he has are fantastic and he’s getting better every game.
“Something we work on in training is the movement and things like that and obviously, for me, getting out wide and [in] those positions I want to find him as much as I can, to get him goals and for him to assist me as well. That’s something we talk about every day, to improve each other’s game.” Despite an impressive start to his United career the Wales international believes there is more to come and he continues to push himself in training. During the 3-3 draw against Sheffield United last weekend he set up Rashford by pulling the ball back for the England international and it was a move straight off the training ground. “I think in those situations, over time you get better obviously because you do it in training. That’s something we do in training all the time,” James said. “Obviously it’s going to be different balls and you’re going to be in different areas, but [last Sunday] for me, the right ball was to pull it back.”
