A MAN was left with a fractured skull after he was knocked down by a push bike in Manchester city centre.

Steve Kelly, 50, was struck by a cyclist as he crossed Withy Grove near the Arndale, on Thursday, November 7.

Pedestrian Steve says he spent 13 days in hospital with head injuries after the accident.

Steve, a door supervisor from Beswick, had just finished a shift at the Hard Rock Cafe when he was hit.

Steve doesn’t remember much about the collision and only realised he’d been hurt when he woke up in Salford Royal Hospital.

He said: ”How a bike crashed into me, a 15 stone bloke, I don’t know.

“I’m not saying it was anyone’s fault because I can’t remember.”

“I still get dizzy spells but I’m on the mend now.

“I’d just like to urge people to be extra careful in the evenings when they’re out and about.

“It gets dark early now so you really need to watch where you’re going.”
