Cybersecurity experts fire up their workforce
A GLOBAL cybersecurity consultancy is set to increase its headcount as it relocates its UK HQ in Manchester.
Coalfire’s UK and European headquarters, currently based at Manchester One on Portland Street, is set to occupy a 5,500 sq ft space at City Tower, Piccadilly.
The firm said the move will allow it to grow its headcount by up to 50 per cent.
Coalfire, which employs more than 800 people across 11 sites in the UK and US, is looking to employ more than 50 people in Manchester in the next 18 months.
The firm is set to move in early 2020.
Andy Barratt, Coalfire managing director for UK and Europe, said:
“Awareness of cybersecurity and data protection issues has grown rapidly in the last decade, which has undoubtedly been a key factor in our success to date.
“As that trend continues, we’re well placed to build further momentum by helping more businesses shore up their cyber defences.”
He added: “Manchester’s digital strengths and international connectivity make it the perfect home for a growing, tech-focused business.
“A fantastic new space in one of the city’s most iconic buildings is the perfect move for us as we look to grow the size of our team and continue building the business here at pace.”
Coalfire’s UK and European operations have been based in Manchester since 2013, which has grown from one person to a team of 30 people since then. Its global headquarters are in Denver, US.
Coalfire CEO, Tom McAndrew, said: “The UK has become a second home to us as we see continued demand from our customers to provide global support.
“We are partnering with a host of rapidly expanding, cyber-aware businesses in the region, many of which have operations in the US, so we see it as integral to our ability to act as an international advisor both now and in the future.”
