HE’S im­mor­talised David Bowie in the North­ern Quar­ter, Manch­ester mu­sic mogul Tony Wil­son, Ari­ana Grande in the city cen­tre, and even the late Fall singer Mark E. Smith - who ap­peared on the side of a chippy.

Now ac­claimed street artist

Akse 19 has another muse com­edy leg­end Vic­to­ria Wood.

A gi­ant mu­ral of the come­di­enne is be­ing painted on the side of the Sword and Spar­row Tat­too Com­pany on Bury Old Road in Prest­wich.

Prest­wich-born Vic­to­ria was 62 when she died from can­cer in

April 2016, and the mu­ral fol­lows the un­veil­ing in May of a life-size statue in Bury town cen­tre.

The graf­fiti artist started work on the de­sign on De­cem­ber 3, with the fin­ished mu­ral due to be un­veiled today, weather per­mit­ting.
