WE WISH YOU A BERRY CHRISTMAS
THERE’S royalty on telly tonight, cooking up a festive storm. And the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are in the kitchen with her, helping out. See what we did there?
Yes, Mary Berry – the Queen of Cakes and pretty much everything else as well – is hosting this seasonal special, which sees her teaming up with Wills and Kate to prepare the festive food for a special event, being held to say a big thank you to a load of those generous souls who will be working and volunteering over the Christmas period.
The Duke and Duchess have invited Mary to accompany them on visits to some of the charities they support, to meet the people behind these fantastic causes.
They go to The Passage, the largest centre in London for homeless and insecurely housed people.
In Liverpool, they visit The Brink – the UK’s first dry bar set up by the Action on Addiction charity – to provide a safe space for those suffering from addiction.
Mary leads Kate in a cake decorating masterclass at RHS Garden Wisley, where the Duchess has designed a woodland area called the Back to Nature garden and supports their work in raising the next generation of healthy, happy children.
Throughout the programme Mary will also be showing us some of her favourite recipes to try out at home this Christmas.
As the royals roll up their sleeves to help prep some delicious-looking meringue roulades, they’re also joined by former Bake Off champion Nadiya Hussain.
