Taxi hit-and-run hor­ror

A MAN is in hospi­tal af­ter he was struck by a taxi in a hit-and-run.

Po­lice were called to re­ports of a col­li­sion on Up­per Brook Street in the early hours of yes­ter­day morn­ing.

The vic­tim was taken to hospi­tal fol­low­ing the in­ci­dent.

A po­lice spokesman said his in­juries are not be­lieved to be lifethreat­en­ing. The taxi failed to stop at the scene. Up­per Brook Street, at the junc­tion with Grosvenor Street and Booth Street East, was sealed off with po­lice tape for sev­eral hours. Po­lice of­fi­cers could be seen stand­ing guard out­side the cor­don.
