Taxi hit-and-run horror
A MAN is in hospital after he was struck by a taxi in a hit-and-run.
Police were called to reports of a collision on Upper Brook Street in the early hours of yesterday morning.
The victim was taken to hospital following the incident.
A police spokesman said his injuries are not believed to be lifethreatening. The taxi failed to stop at the scene. Upper Brook Street, at the junction with Grosvenor Street and Booth Street East, was sealed off with police tape for several hours. Police officers could be seen standing guard outside the cordon.
There are no reports of any arrests and Greater Manchester Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward. Anyone with information can call 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
