THE Real Housewives of Cheshire star Dawn Ward is on a mission to help The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital after her daughter Charlie was treated for a fractured skull.

Charlie, 12, suffered a fractured skull, shoulder and hip after being hit by a car in Wilmslow on Wednesday.

The youngster was taken to Macclesfield Hospital before being blue-lighted to The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.

After her harrowing ordeal Charlie is now at home recovering with her family – and Dawn is determined to give a boost to other children who will be spending Christmas in hospital.

She and her friends Niki O’Neil and Matt Haycox and fellow Real Housewives stars Hanna Miraftab, Perla Navia, Rachel Lugo, Seema Malhotra and Tanya Bardsley have rallied around to raise funds for the hospital and they’ll be buying gifts for every child on ward 78, where Charlie was treated.

Dawn will also be raising funds for the hospital over the next year.

She told us: “Charlie had huge injuries. She had two brain scans and she was just inches from breaking her neck.

“I’ve spent my life raising money for children who are in need and never thought I’d be in this position.

“The care she received in hospital was just incredible and she’s now at home getting over her ordeal.

“But there are a lot of children who aren’t coming home for Christmas so we’re going shopping to buy them gifts.”

Dawn, one of the original stars of the ITVBe show about a group of glamorous ladies living in Cheshire, has been touched by the flood of support she’s received after the accident including from co-star Tanya, whose three young sons Rocco, 10, Renz, seven and three-year-old Ralphi sent ‘get well soon’ video messages.

The doting mum posted on her Instagram to update fans that Charlie was home.

She wrote: “For everyone asking I’m delighted to say Charlie is home now.

“She’s done unbelievable considering she had a fractured skull, fractured shoulder and now a fractured hip.

“We couldn’t have been in better hands. “A huge thank you to Manchester Children’s Hospital. The doctors and nurses were incredible and so lovely on Ward 78.”

She added: “Me and Rachel Lugo will be going shopping buying every child on that ward a present from The Real Housewives of Cheshire as some children aren’t as lucky as Charlie was. Feeling truly blessed.”

Dawn and her co-stars will be delivering the gifts to the ward in person on Christmas Eve.

Police were called to reports of a pedestrian collision outside Pizza Express on Alderley Road, Wilmslow, at 5.35pm on Wednesday.

Officers attended the scene and found that a 12-year-old girl had been involved in a collision with a Grey Audi Q3.

“The driver of the car was uninjured and no arrests have been made,” said a spokeswoman for Cheshire Constabulary.
