WE might not have had a white Christ­mas, but there’s plenty of snow on screen here, along with a host of ridicu­lously cute furry crea­tures.

Pre­sen­ter Liz Bon­nin is in charge of in­tro­duc­ing us to these charis­matic cuties, and help­ing to ex­plain what it is that they do to sur­vive, and even thrive, in the most in­hos­pitable and ex­treme win­ter con­di­tions. Like the Siberian chip­munks, who start their prepa­ra­tions back in au­tumn, col­lect­ing food in their ever-ex­pand­ing cheeks to stock­pile in their bur­rows dur­ing the frost.

We also learn how Arc­tic foxes are mas­ters of dis­guise, while Amer­i­can bob­cats have de­vel­oped su­per hear­ing to help them hunt prey in deep snow.
