THERE IS STILL NOTHING LIKE A DAME

-

WE WERE led to believe she had retired after completing an emotional farewell tour celebrating her incredible fifty years in showbiz.

But it turns out that Dame Edna Everage has in fact been sailing the seas in her luxury mega yacht, the Ocean Widow, as she tries to avoid both the paparazzi and the taxman.

So hello again possums, because tonight the lilac-haired Aussie legend is hosting an entertainment extravaganza from her glamorous state room, complete with enormous chandeliers, a grand entrance staircase, and her house (boat) band Laurie Holloway and the Hollowtones.

And, randomly, it turns out that the ship’s captain – complete with spivvy white uniform – is

EastEnders’ star Rudolph Walker, who Edna joins for a rendition of his 70s hit Reggae Woman.

Edna has invited some very special guests to join her on board, and will grill all of them in her own unique way.

Starting with Sharon Osbourne, the famous fan of plastic surgery, a subject which Edna deftly introduces by asking: “you’ve been to the panel beaters a few times, haven’t you?” Yes, the 85-year-old megastar is as outlandish and outrageous as ever.

Other guests on the show include Robert ‘Judge’ Rinder, who discusses his six-pack and work-out regime, and Edna bonds with I’m A Celebrity star Emily Atack over their love of the Australian bush.

She’s got TV chef Rick Stein in charge of catering, Joe Sugg pops up to take some selfies – and innocently ask what Dame Edna means when she warns him she’s a cradle snatcher – and Nile Rogers and Chic close the show in true disco style.
