PAUL Pogba will not leave United in the January transfer window, his agent Mino Raiola has confirmed – but has refused to rule out a move in the coming year.

The midfielder, who made his long awaited return from injury in the defeat at Watford, continues to be linked with a transfer away from Old Trafford with Real Madrid still interested in the 26-year-old.

His prolonged delay from an ankle injury further fuelled the speculation with claims, which Ole Gunnar Solskjaer denied, that the France international was putting off his return as he tried to force through a transfer.

The United manager already made it clear earlier this month that the midfielder would not be going anywhere in the January transfer window and Raiola has confirmed his client is happy to stay – for now.

“Paul has always respected Manchester United, as long as Manchester United has respected Paul,” Raiola told Sky Sports News.

“The only one that talks for Manchester United and Paul is Ole. I go by what he says; he will not move. That’s OK and we are good with them.

“Paul is struggling a little bit with his injury and that’s our main interest now. There’s one objective that Paul has and that is to perform as well as possible with Manchester United.

“He’s a top pro and I think that his heart is in the right place with Manchester United.”

Pogba, who has not started a game for United since the draw against Arsenal back in September due to injury, said in the summer he was

considering leaving the club for a ‘new challenge’ and Raiola has reiterated that could still be the case if Solskjaer’s side, who sit in fifth in the Premier League table, miss out on Champions League football again.

“Yes I can, but in a club that I hope fights for the league and hopefully the Champions League,” Raiola replied when asked if he could see Pogba still being at the club in a year’s time. “As long as Paul is in

Manchester United, he wants to win trophies with Manchester United. That’s the kind of player he is and he will not act differently.

“Like Ole’s saying, it’s a work in progress now this club. He’s says he’s working on a team for next year. Let’s hope that it goes well for him because the world needs Manchester United on the top. Clearly they are not where they think they should be.”
