BMW lands on roof in crash

A BMW was pro­pelled into the air and landed on its roof af­ter an ear­ly­morn­ing crash on Trin­ity Way.

Po­lice were called af­ter 6am yes­ter­day fol­low­ing the city cen­tre col­li­sion, in which five men in the car were hurt.

A blue BMW M3 left the road and col­lided with the cen­tral reser­va­tion ‘send­ing the ve­hi­cle air­borne be­fore col­lid­ing with street fur­ni­ture and land­ing on its roof’.

The driver of the BMW, a 32-year-old man, was se­ri­ously in­jured but his con­di­tion is not thought to be lifethreat­en­ing.

Two other men in the car, aged 31 and 33, were also taken to hos­pi­tal with se­ri­ous but not lifethreat­en­ing in­juries.

An­other two men who were in the BMW suf­fered mi­nor in­juries and also went to hos­pi­tal.

Trin­ity Way was closed for four hours.
