700 cannabis plants found af­ter tip-off

A MAS­SIVE cannabis farm has been un­cov­ered by po­lice.

Of­fi­cers said they found the drugs grow­ing at a prop­erty in Urm­ston town cen­tre.

The cannabis farm con­tained more than 700 plants at dif­fer­ent stages of growth, po­lice said.

They struck on Satur­day night af­ter re­ceiv­ing in­tel­li­gence about the pres­ence of the drugs, ac­cord­ing to a post on the GMP Traf­ford North Face­book page.

The post read: “Traf­ford North area team to the res­cue .... Again

“Traf­ford West team you’re wel­come #weac­cept­cakes.

“Tonight Traf­ford North area team have acted on some in­for­ma­tion passed to them & at­tended at an ad­dress.

It adds: “Have lo­cated a large cannabis farm com­pris­ing of over 700 cannabis plants at var­i­ous stages of growth.

“Thanks to the Traf­ford North area team this seizure has taken a large amount of drugs off the street & out of Urm­ston & keep­ing all of Traf­ford safe. Thanks Pc M”
