HS2 ‘will cost more’
THOSE in charge of the HS2 project have been accused of “fiddling the figures” by the deputy chairman of the project’s review panel.
It was initially expected to cost £50.1bn. Latest estimates by HS2 Ltd put the price at £88bn, but former Labour transport spokesman Lord Berkeley says independent analysis arrives at £107.92bn.
A Department for Transport spokesman said: “Lord Berkeley’s report represents his personal view.”
