Booze at care homes

AL­MOST half of care work­ers say their care home has a bar or place where res­i­dents can drink al­co­hol, ac­cord­ing to a poll.

The poll, by care­home.co.uk, found that 44% say their care home has a fa­cil­ity, such as a bar or drink­ing area. While 21% say that booze is banned for care home oc­cu­pants, 16% say there is no limit to how much a res­i­dent can im­bibe.

Some 18% said res­i­dents are able to drink one unit per night.
