WOMAN ‘IN 30s’ FOUND DEAD AT HOUSE

A WOMAN has been found dead at a house, po­lice said.

Of­fi­cers were called to Coun­cil­lor Lane in Chea­dle, Stock­port, af­ter they re­ceived a re­port of ‘con­cern for the wel­fare of a woman’ on Satur­day night.

There they found the body of a woman, thought to be aged in her 30s.

Po­lice re­mained at the prop­erty yes­ter­day while in­ves­ti­ga­tions con­tin­ued. They were orig­i­nally called at 9.15pm.

En­quiries into the cause of the woman’s death were on­go­ing.

In a state­ment, GMP said: “Po­lice were called at 9.15pm on Satur­day 4 Jan­uary 2020 to a re­port of con­cern for the wel­fare of a woman at a prop­erty on Coun­cil­lor Lane, Chea­dle.

“Emer­gency ser­vices at­tended and sadly found the body of a woman, be­lieved to be aged in her 30s, at the scene.

“A scene re­mains in place at the prop­erty while en­quiries into the cir­cum­stances of her death re­main on­go­ing.”
