6 months of road works to begin at junction

Manchester Evening News - - NEWS -

DELAYS are expected as six months of roadworks on a busy junction near the M60 begin next week.

From Monday, work will take place on Worsley Roundabouts in Salford.

Work will be done to improve the two roundabouts to lessen the impact on traffic flow during the rush-hour period.

Salford council say that the work being done should reduce the journey time by 10 per cent with other local traffic seeing a ‘bigger journey time saving.’ Work will take place at night.

Major work will be done to resurface the two roundabouts and solve the ongoing drainage issues at the Worsley Courthouse roundabout.

An additional lane approaching the roundabout will also be added, clearer road markings and improvements to pavements and cycle lanes will also be made.

The roads most affected in the area will be Worsley Road, Barton Road and Leigh Road.

The improvements works are on the roundabouts at the motorway junction, and not for the M60 itself.
