Euro trip will prove occasion to savour

-

THE New Year can be a time to try and start afresh for some clubs, but at Sale Sharks we’re hoping for more of the same after some fantastic results over the Christmas period.

In the past few weeks we’ve put on two impressive displays at the AJ Bell Stadium, firstly beating Northampton 22-10 to cement our place at the top end of the Gallagher Premiership before the holidays got underway.

Then, we had the honour of kicking off the first Premiership game of the decade at home to Harlequins last Friday scoring a massive 48 points in front of a bumper home crowd to start 2020 in the best possible way.

The game felt like the performance the lads have been threatening to do for some time now and one that the fans had been longing for.

We really capitalised on the potential we’ve been showing since the start of the season, following some impressive recruitment during the summer to bring more top internationals to the club.

We often host events for our club partners and we’ve recently had players like Faf De Klerk and Tom Curry speaking about how we’d had a solid start to the season that needed to be built on. It’s fantastic to see that we’re now doing exactly that with some eye-catching results and we’re currently sat fourth in the table.

Our good form has arrived right in time for our big trip to France tonight too as we visit La Rochelle in the Heineken Cup. Travelling away in Europe is one of the biggest and best things for any club, and at Sale Sharks we definitely do it well.

In addition to lots of travelling
