THE BAFTA contenders were announced this week and while Joker leads the pack overall with 11 nominations, the Aussie actress, right, finds herself in the unusual position of being up against herself after she landed two nominations for Supporting Actress for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Bombshell. The ceremony takes place on February 2.

THE fiery Greek tennis star lost his temper during an ATP Cup match with Nick Kyrgios and smashed his raquet in anger, only to accidentally catch his dad Apostolos on the arm in the process. He received a code violation for his tantrum... and a scolding from his mother. Quite right too.

WHILE Margot, left could be in for a good night, the awards themselves have been blasted for lacking diversity with the shortlist for this year’s acting gongs only featuring white actors leading to the hashtag #baftassowhite trending on Twitter.

IT IS a staple of the festive season but our love for the fruit and brandy-rich dessert may be on the wane. Figures from market research company Kantar reveal that sales of them fell by 16% in the UK in the run-up to Christmas. Turkey sales also fell by 1%.

THE Cambridgeshire town has been named the worst place to live in the UK for the second year running. Residents surveyed for the ilivehere poll complained it was ‘draining’ living there and called the place a ‘dump’. Other towns making the list included Halifax, Rochdale and Doncaster.

NOW the razzle dazzle of Christmas is behind us and the parties are over, what you need is some cheery home decor for all those nights you’ll be spending at home (not drinking) for the next few weeks.

And there can be few things brighter and cheerier than the new collection of colourful cushions from Bombay Duck. Featuring slogans like ‘Groovy’, ‘Yes please’ and ‘Chill’ they are sure to brighten up weekends spent bingeing on box sets. Prices range from £25-£39.50 and you can find them at bombay duck.com
