Three in hospi­tal af­ter car smashes into trees

THREE peo­ple were taken to hospi­tal fol­low­ing a crash.

A car is un­der­stood to have smashed into a tree on Kingsway, in Fal­low­field, at around 10.15pm on Thursday.

Fire­fight­ers res­cued two peo­ple who were trapped in the ve­hi­cle.

Another two peo­ple man­aged to get out be­fore fire crews ar­rived.

Paramedics treated all four at the scene and three were taken to hospi­tal. The am­bu­lance ser­vice said two men, aged in their 20s and a woman, in her late teens, re­quired hospi­tal treat­ment.

One of the men was de­scribed as hav­ing se­ri­ous in­juries.

A wit­ness said the car could be seen hit­ting trees then spin­ning on the car­riage­way be­fore com­ing to a stop.

A fire ser­vice spokesman said: “We ex­tracted two peo­ple from the car. They were taken to hospi­tal, along­side another per­son. They were conscious and breath­ing.”
