The former Emmerdale actress took to social media to share a sassy video of her strutting her stuff in gym gear.

Alongside the post Gemma commented: “Them: You won’t get your body back. Me: That’s cute hun...” Friends and fans were quick to applaud the star’s hard work after welcoming daughter, Mia Louise, with Strictly pro Gorka Marquez in July last year. Fellow Hits Radio presenter Fleur East commented: “Savage! Absolutely love this!”

“Yaaaaas, smashed it,” Hollyoaks actress Sarah Jayne Dunn added.

But Gemma, from Bury, was forced to respond after a follower claimed that she makes women ‘feel bad’ about themselves.

The message, which the 35-year-old shared to her Instagram story, said: “Your post about getting your body back. Well done. You have succeeded in making every other woman who follows you feel bad about themselves. Some of us have no family to rely on so we can[‘t] go to the gym.

“Some of us have mental health issues that prevent us from leaving the house to attend the gym, or even find the energy to do a home workout. But hey, go post a video of you looking amazing and swish your hair.”

Responding the criticism, Gemma said: “One thing I will always, always tell Mia, is to never let anyone dull your sparkle, my darling.”
