Italian restaurant company is put in administration
FIRM CONFIDENT OF SAVING ALL THREE OF ITS SITES
THE company behind three Italian restaurants in Greater Manchester has gone into administration. Tre Ciccio opened its first restaurant in Altrincham in 2018 and two more sites swiftly followed in
Bramhall and Ramsbottom.
The Bramhall branch shut earlier this month for what owners said would be ‘a short period of time while we restructure for future developments.’
Now the company has called in accounting and advisory firm Mazars LLP to help find a way forward.
The Ramsbottom and Altrincham restaurants remain open as normal, and administrators say they are confident of a positive outcome for all three sites.
Patrick Lannagan, Joint Administrator, said: “Trading at the Altrincham and Ramsbottom restaurants will continue as normal while we assess the financial position of the businesses.
“The restaurant located in Bramhall was closed shortly prior to the appointment of administrators with a reopening planned for February 2020.
“Given the popularity of the restaurants, we are confident that we can achieve a positive outcome for all of the sites.”
Tre Ciccio chef-director Francesco Scafuri said the administration had come about due to losses at the Bramhall restaurant.
“We can confirm Tre Ciccio Ltd is currently in temporary administration for a limited period due to losses in the Tre Ciccio Bramhall restaurant,” he told customers on Facebook.
“However, we are trading as normal and it’s very much business as usual while we go through a restructuring process.
“We would ask all our Tre Ciccio customers to continue to support us through this period and continue to enjoy our new January menu with the offer of 25 per cent off food.
“Thank you for your ongoing support - we will update you in due course.”
Translating as ‘three chubby friends,’ Tre Ciccio specialises in wood-fired pizza and southern Italian-style roast chicken, which have earned it glowing reviews, including one from the M.E.N after a visit to the Bramhall branch. Administrators say no redundancies will be made at this stage.
