Grime star JME to spark life into Parklife

-

PARKLIFE announces its line up next week - but organisers couldn’t wait to reveal the latest act for this year’s festival.

British grime star JME will be bringing his Grime MC FM spectacle to Heaton Park this summer, a live celebration of the pirate radio and rave culture that propelled the movement.

The Boy Better Know co-founder returned last year after a spell away from the spotlight and social media with a UK cinema tour where fans got to experience feature length output from his new music and videos.

His latest album Grime MC followed in December, released as physical copies only, with no streaming or digital downloads available.

Grime MC FM is billed as ‘the unadulterated live experience of a non-mainstream culture that JME was born to champion’, and will see him joined by ‘a host of grime dons’.

Parklife returns to Heaton

Park on Saturday June 13 and Sunday June 14.

JME will perform on the Saturday, following an appearance at London’s Lovebox festival on Friday June 12.

He joins US rapper Tyler the Creator, who has already been confirmed as Saturday’s Parklife headliner .

A pre-festival performance by Liam Gallagher has also been confirmed to take place at Heaton Park on Friday June 12.

A Parklife pre-sale for Manchester residents opened yesterday, offering tickets at the discounted rate of £119 to anyone with a Manchester postcode.

A further pre-sale open to the wider public opens on January 29. Visit parklife.uk.com to register for access.

Tickets go on general sale 24 hours later via ticketmaster. co.uk/parklife, following next week’s line up announcement.
