22 officers still on restricted duties after ‘fakes’ complaint
TWENTY-two police officers working in the Cheetham Hill area were put on restricted duties in November after the force received a complaint involving ‘a serious allegation involving the handling of counterfeit goods by officers.’
The MEN understands the 22 from the City of Manchester district and Serious Crime Division have been moved to different stations and are not allowed to work with the public or access police computers.
Operation Ludwin has been launched to investigate the allegations.
Supt Boyce said: “The investigation is ongoing. Those placed on restricted duties remain on restricted duties.”
