Rojo is all set to go go!
ESTUDIANTES president Juan Sebastian Veron has declared the club’s interest in signing United defender Marcos Rojo.
Rojo has not played since November and M.E.N. Sport understands he was recently given time off amid the possibility of him leaving the club this month.
The 29-year-old came through the youth system at Estudiantes before moving to Spartak Moscow. La Nacion say Rojo and his former club are waiting on
United’s approval for a six-month loan, but the Reds would prefer to send him to a European club to increase his transfer value in the summer.
Rojo has visited his boyhood side on recent visits back to Argentina, and trained with them last year.
“Hopefully Manchester can see that there is no economic issue that we can match. We are working so that he can come. He has everything to keep playing in Europe,” said Veron.
