How Jason kept everyone hedging bets

-

JASON Manford has revealed what it was really like to be the Hedgehog on The Masked Singer.

The Salford comic and actor has told of the incredible lengths he went to keep his identity under wraps until the very end of the ITV singing show.

He says it was like ‘MI5 stuff’ as he was driven to a hangar in London to protect his identity.

After being unmasked as the Hedgehog, Jason called in to his Absolute Radio show on Sunday to talk about his experience on the guessing game that had the nation talking for weeks.

“I had to legally because you sign NDAs and stuff. I didn’t even tell my kids,” he said.

“I didn’t tell anybody, I had to keep it all hush hush.”

Jason, 38, came in second place on The Masked Singer final after Nicola Roberts as the Queen Bee on Saturday night.

Many fans guessed who he was from the very start because of his experience in the West End.

“It was like MI5 stuff. I recorded it last September while I was rehearsing for Curtains I’m on tour with at the moment,” he said.

“They pick us up, drive us to this hanger north of London somewhere.

“About 20 minutes out of the studio you had to put on a hoodie that said ‘don’t speak to me’ on the front, which I’ve kept, and wear a balaclava, gloves, a visor – and then when you got there nobody spoke to you.

“There was about four people in the whole of the production who actually knew who you were.

“I never knew who the other contestants were. It was weird watching the show thinking ‘who is the Duck?’”
